Rich Holmberg wanted to honor the longtime employees of Concord-based Grabber, a national construction supply company. The event on September 20 feted 23 employees who had been with the company other 20 or 30 years.
It was founded 40 years ago, May 1967, in San Francisco,” said Holmberg proudly.The participants who hailed from across the country along with their partners and spouses comprised a group of 45 people that evening. “The people who had been with the company 20 years got a Rolex and people have been the company 30 years got $10,000,” he reported.
The Grabber president has long patronized the Fior d’Italia for business.”I have considered Fior d’Italia one of the most significant arrows in my marketing quiver,” remarked the former managing director. Holmberg had been away on sick leave for 18 months before the event. “So coming back to see all these friends was really wonderful,” he said.
